Calendar FAQ
Common questions about the ANTE Calendar — opening it, choosing what appears on the grid, creating events, and working with the items the Calendar borrows from other modules. Each answer points to the page that covers the topic in full.
Getting Around the Calendar
Where do I open the Calendar?
Click the calendar icon in the top header bar, to the left of your profile. There is no Calendar entry in the left sidebar — the header icon replaces it. You need the Calendar access permission to see the icon and open the page; ask your administrator if it isn't there.
Which views can I use, and does the Calendar remember my choice?
The view selector in the toolbar offers Month, Week, Day, and Schedule (an upcoming-events list). Week is the starting default, and your most recent choice is remembered and reused the next time you open the Calendar. Your sidebar filter selections are remembered the same way.
How do I hide the dates I don't want to see?
Use the checkboxes in the left sidebar. They are grouped into My calendars (Personal, Tasks), Company calendar (Department, Shared, Company Wide, Meetings), Payroll calendar (Payroll Cutoff, Leaves, National and Local Holidays, Official Business, Certificate of Attendance), and Google calendar — which only appears once you have connected Google calendars. Unticking a stream only changes what is displayed; it never changes the underlying records. The toolbar search box narrows the visible events further by title, description, location, or category.
Creating and Changing Events
How do I create an event?
Click Create in the toolbar or click a single day on the grid to open Quick Create, which asks for a title, date, time (unless it is an all-day event), and where to Save to. Drag-selecting a range of days, or clicking More options, opens the full Create Event dialog. Quick Create only makes plain events — use the full dialog for the other types: Out of office (with an auto-reply message), Focus (with do-not-disturb), Working location, and Booking (with a slot length). Steps are on the Calendar Module page.
Who can see an event I create?
That is decided by Save to. Personal keeps it to yourself, My Department shares it with your department, All Users makes it company-wide, Specific people opens an invite picker, and Other departments lets you share with chosen departments. You can also save an event straight to a connected, writable Google calendar. Your last choice is remembered, so your next event defaults to the same destination.
Why can't I drag or edit some items on the grid?
Because they belong to another module or another system. Native calendar events can be dragged to reschedule and resized from their bottom edge, but task deadline chips and source-owned items such as meetings and invoices cannot — change those from the module that owns them. Events mirrored from Google are read-only here, and must be edited or deleted in Google Calendar. A meeting's block always shows its planned slot (its scheduled start plus the agenda's total duration, or 60 minutes when no agenda is set) rather than when it actually ran.
Tasks, Meetings and Payroll Dates
Does dragging a task onto the calendar change its due date?
No. Dropping a task from the Tasks panel onto the grid creates a personal time block for working on it — one hour on a timed slot, or an all-day placement on the all-day strip. The deadline and the block you created are independent, so a task can appear twice: once on its due date, once on the day you set aside. The Tasks checkbox in the sidebar controls both together. See Tasks Panel — Drag to Schedule.
What happens when I click a payroll or HR date?
A small read-only Details panel opens, showing the record's key fields — leave type, holiday scope, cut-off range, remarks, and so on — plus an approval status for the filings that have one (Pending, Approved, Rejected, or Cancelled). Nothing on the panel can be edited: it ends with a note reminding you to manage the record from its source module. Full field reference: Payroll Calendar Event Details.
A meeting disappeared from my calendar — why?
Either the Meetings stream is unticked in the sidebar's Company calendar group, or the meeting has been archived. Archiving removes a meeting from the Calendar even while it is still Scheduled or In Progress; restoring it brings it back. See Meetings.
