Payroll Calendar Event Details
View the saved details of an HR or payroll date directly on the Calendar — without leaving the page. Clicking a Payroll calendar event opens a small read-only panel that shows the record's key fields. Nothing on this panel can be edited, saved, or deleted: to change a record you go to the module it came from.
Overview
The Calendar fans in several streams of HR/payroll dates from other modules and shows them as colored chips on the grid. Six of these streams open a Details panel when you click their chip:
- Payroll Cutoff
- Leaves
- Official Business
- Certificate of Attendance
- National Holidays
- Local Holidays
Each chip carries the information it needs to fill the panel, so opening it is instant — the Calendar does not reload anything. The panel always ends with a lock note reminding you that the record is read-only and must be managed from its source module.
Opening the Details Panel
- Open the Calendar using the calendar icon in the top header bar.
- Make sure the streams you want to see are switched on. In the left sidebar, under Payroll calendar, tick the streams you need (Payroll Cutoff, Leaves, National Holidays, Local Holidays, Official Business, Certificate of Attendance).
- Click the event chip on the grid.
- The Details panel opens. Review the fields, then click Close.
Only the six Payroll-calendar streams above open this read-only panel. Other event types behave differently — for example, a task chip opens the task dialog, and a meeting chip opens the meeting page.
What the Panel Shows
Every panel has the same layout:
- A colored dot matching the stream's color, next to the event's title.
- A status label, shown only when the record carries an approval status (see Status).
- A list of fields (see Field Reference). Fields with no saved value are shown as a dash (
—). - A lock note: "Read-only — manage this record from its source module."
- A Close button.
Status
A status label appears only for filings that go through an approval flow — Leaves, Official Business, and Certificate of Attendance. The possible values are:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Awaiting approval |
| Approved | Approved |
| Rejected | Rejected |
| Cancelled | Cancelled |
Holidays and Payroll Cutoff chips have no approval flow, so they show no status label. (A Payroll Cutoff may still list its own processing Status as a field — see below.)
Field Reference
The fields shown depend on which stream you clicked. A Date is shown for every record (replaced by a date range where one applies). A Remarks field appears last whenever the record has remarks.
Leaves
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | The date of the leave. |
| Leave type | The type of leave filed. |
| Days | Number of days (shown only when recorded). |
| Period | The time window of the leave, e.g. start–end time (shown only when a time is recorded). |
| Remarks | Any remarks on the filing (shown only when present). |
Official Business
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | The date of the official business. |
| Location | Where the official business takes place. |
| Period | The time window (shown only when a time is recorded). |
| Remarks | Any remarks on the filing (shown only when present). |
Certificate of Attendance
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | The date of the certificate. |
| Period | The time window (shown only when a time is recorded). |
| Remarks | Any remarks on the filing (shown only when present). |
National Holidays / Local Holidays
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | The date of the holiday. |
| Type | The holiday type. |
| Scope | National for a national holiday, Local for a local holiday. |
| Remarks | Any remarks (shown only when present). |
Payroll Cutoff
The Payroll Cutoff panel fills in as much as the record provides. When both ends of the cutoff are known, the single Date row is replaced by a Cutoff range showing the start and end dates.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Cutoff code | The cutoff's code (shown only when present). |
| Period | The cutoff period — for example Weekly, Bi-weekly, or Monthly (shown only when present). |
| Date / Cutoff range | The cutoff date, or a start–end range when both ends are known. |
| Processing date | When the cutoff is processed (shown only when present). |
| Release date | The release date. When the record records the lag, it is annotated, e.g. "… (3 days after cutoff)" (shown only when present). |
| Status | The cutoff's processing status, e.g. Timekeeping (shown only when present). |
| Remarks | Any remarks (shown only when present). |
Common Tasks
Inspect an HR/payroll date quickly
Click the chip on the grid, read the Details panel, and click Close. Use this when you just need to confirm a leave type, a holiday scope, or a cutoff range without opening the full module.
Edit or manage the underlying record
This panel cannot edit anything. As the lock note states, go to the record's source module to make changes:
- Leaves, Official Business, Certificate of Attendance — managed where you file and approve those requests.
- Payroll Cutoff — managed from the payroll setup for the cutoff.
- National / Local Holidays — managed from the holiday calendar setup.
Hide a stream you don't want to see
If a Payroll-calendar stream is cluttering the grid, untick it in the left sidebar under Payroll calendar. This only controls what is shown — it never changes the underlying records. Your sidebar selections are remembered between sessions.
Notes
- The panel is strictly read-only — there is no edit, save, or delete action, only Close.
- Opening the panel performs no network request; it shows the information already carried on the chip.
- Times are shown in 12-hour format; dates are shown in long form (e.g. January 5, 2026).
