Holiday Configuration
Holiday Configuration is where you control which holidays your company observes and on which dates, so Timekeeping and Payroll compute the right holiday pay automatically. The screen has two tabs: National Holidays — the shared calendar every Ante installation uses, with a Move action your company can use to transfer one to a different date — and Local Holidays — holidays specific to a province or city that you create and manage directly.
Where to Find It
- Open Manpower in the sidebar.
- Go to Configuration.
- Click Holidays.
Opening the screen requires holiday-configuration view access; the buttons to move, add, edit, or delete a holiday only appear if your account also has the matching create, update, or delete permission.
National Holidays
National holidays are the shared calendar Ante maintains for every company in the installation — Regulation Day, Independence Day, and the rest of the national non-working days, split here into a Regular Holidays list and a Special Non-Working Holidays list for the year you select. Their name, type, and original date are reference data your Ante administrator manages centrally, not something any one company can rename or retype here.
Each row shows the holiday's Date, its Holiday Name, an Observed on column, and an action button. Observed on reads — for a holiday your company observes on its normal date. Once you move a holiday it shows the new date instead, or Not observed if you've told Ante your company doesn't observe that holiday at all.
Moving a Holiday to a Different Date
Many employers shift a non-working day to a different date by company practice — for example, moving a holiday that falls in March or April to December instead. Since the national calendar itself is shared across every company, Ante lets you record this as a transfer that applies only to your company, without touching the shared entry or affecting any other tenant.
- Open the holiday's rowOn the National Holidays tab, find the holiday and click Move (or Edit move if you've already moved this holiday once).
- Set the new dateIn the Move holiday dialog, the subtitle confirms which holiday you're moving and its original date. Enter the new date in Observed on.
- Add a reason (optional)Use the Reason field to note why the holiday was moved, for your own records.
- SaveClick Save. The holiday disappears from its original date and appears on the new date instead, everywhere Timekeeping and Payroll look for holidays.
A move follows a few rules:
- It relocates the holiday entirely. The original date becomes an ordinary working day, and the new date carries the holiday pay — the holiday isn't observed on both dates.
- The holiday keeps its type. A moved Regular holiday is still a Regular holiday on its new date (paid the same way — full pay if unworked, double pay if worked), and a moved Special holiday stays Special.
- Leaving Observed on blank means "not observed at all." Save with no date and your company simply doesn't get that holiday this year — it won't appear on its original date or anywhere else.
- Ante won't let two holidays land on the same day. If your company already observes a holiday on the date you enter, saving is refused so the day doesn't end up paid twice — move or remove the existing one first.
- Moves across a year boundary are supported — for example, transferring a holiday from earlier in the year into December, or from December into the following January.
To undo a move, click Edit move on the holiday and then Reset to original date. The transfer is removed and the holiday returns to observing its original, unmoved date.
Moving a holiday only affects cutoffs still in the Timekeeping stage. A cutoff that has already moved on to payroll processing keeps the holiday resolution it already computed — reopen that cutoff back to Timekeeping first if it needs to pick up the move.
Local Holidays
Local holidays are holidays your company defines directly, scoped to a specific province and, optionally, a specific city — for example a city's founding-anniversary holiday. Unlike national holidays, these are company-owned records you create, edit, and delete outright; there's no separate move step because you simply edit the date.
The list shows Date, Holiday Name, Type, and Province (Region is available but hidden by default). You can search by holiday name and filter by holiday type.
Adding a Local Holiday
- On the Local Holidays tab, click Add Holiday.
- Under Holiday Information, fill in the Holiday Name, Holiday Type (Regular or Special), and Date — all required.
- Under Location, choose the Region and Province the holiday applies to (both required); optionally narrow it to one City. Leaving City blank makes the holiday apply to the whole province.
- Click Create Holiday.
Editing or Deleting a Local Holiday
- Click a row on the Local Holidays list to open its details.
- Click Edit to change any field, or Delete to remove the holiday.
- Deleting asks you to confirm; this action cannot be undone.
