ANTE User Manual

Using ANTE on Your Phone

ANTE has a mobile version designed for phone screens. It is not a separate product β€” it uses the same account, the same data, and the same permissions as the desktop version. Anything you change on your phone appears on the desktop immediately, and the other way around.

The mobile version is built for the things you do away from your desk: checking your tasks, replying to a discussion, filing a request, and viewing your payslip. Larger jobs β€” building reports, configuring settings, working with long forms β€” are still best done on a computer.

Getting to the Mobile App

  • Automatic redirect: If you open your company's usual ANTE address (e.g. yourcompany.ante.work) from your phone's browser, ANTE detects you're on a mobile device and automatically redirects you to the mobile app at mobile.ante.work.
  • Direct address: You can also go straight to mobile.ante.work in your phone's browser.

Installing on Your Home Screen

You can install ANTE Mobile straight to your phone's home screen. Once installed, it opens like a regular app β€” full-screen, with your phone's browser address bar and toolbar hidden β€” instead of opening as another browser tab.

iPhone or iPad (Safari)

Installation is only available through Safari on iOS β€” other browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc. on iPhone) cannot add a properly branded, full-screen app icon.

  1. Open Safari and go to mobile.ante.work (or let ANTE redirect you there automatically).
  2. Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm the name (or change it) and tap Add in the top-right corner.

An ANTE icon now appears on your home screen. Tapping it opens ANTE full-screen, without Safari's address bar or tabs.

Note: If you added ANTE to your home screen before this feature shipped, you may have an older shortcut that shows a plain screenshot instead of the ANTE icon, and that opens inside Safari instead of full-screen. Delete that old shortcut and add it again using the steps above to get the branded icon and full-screen behavior.

Push notifications need this install on iOS. Safari only delivers push notifications to a site that has been added to the Home Screen (Safari 16.4 or later) β€” opening mobile.ante.work in a regular Safari tab cannot receive them. See Push Notifications below.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and go to mobile.ante.work (or let ANTE redirect you there automatically).
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen, depending on your Chrome version).
  4. Confirm by tapping Install (or Add).

The ANTE icon appears on your home screen, and opens the app full-screen.

Signing In

Open the mobile address in your phone's browser and sign in with the same credentials you use on the desktop:

  • Domain prefix – your company's short code (the same one you use on desktop)
  • Username – your username
  • Password – your password

Tap the eye icon at the right of the password box to check what you typed before submitting.

If your company requires a one-time passcode, a second screen appears after you sign in. Enter the six-digit code sent to you to finish signing in.

Ask your administrator

If you do not know your domain prefix, your system administrator can tell you. It is the same value on your phone and on your computer.

Signing In from the Home Screen

Launching ANTE from your home screen icon starts at the app's home address, without the company name that a direct link from your browser normally carries. Because of this:

  • The first time you sign in from the home-screen icon, enter your company's domain prefix, username, and password as usual (see Logging In).
  • After that, ANTE remembers the last company domain prefix you successfully signed in with, and automatically fills it in the next time you open the app from your home screen β€” so you'll typically only need to enter your username and password.
  • If you use ANTE for more than one company on the same phone, double-check the pre-filled company domain before signing in.

Finding Your Way Around

The Bottom Bar

A bar at the bottom of the screen stays visible as you move around. It holds your main destinations:

  • Dashboard – your home screen
  • Tasks – everything assigned to you
  • Messages – conversations
  • Learning – your courses

If you are an approver, an extra Approvals button appears in the middle of the bar. Tapping it opens your pending approvals without leaving the page you are on.

A badge on a button means something is waiting for you β€” for example, unread messages or unfinished course work.

The Menu

Tap the menu icon at the top left to open the full menu. This is where you reach everything that is not on the bottom bar, along with your profile, Notifications (your push notification settings β€” see Push Notifications below), the light/dark appearance switch, and the sign-out button.

Some pages that exist on the desktop are not available on a phone. If you open one, you will see a short "coming soon to mobile" message pointing you to the desktop version.

Appearance

The mobile version follows a light or dark appearance, which you can change from the menu. Choosing System matches whatever your phone is already set to.

Your Dashboard

The dashboard is your home screen. Across the top are counter cards β€” your task count, pending requests, days until the next cutoff, and your leave balance.

Below the counters are cards for the things you use most: your tasks, notifications, announcements, your calendar, your schedule, requests, attendance, and your payslip. You can choose which cards appear and rearrange them by tapping the settings icon at the top right of the dashboard.

Opening a Task From the Dashboard

The Tasks card lists the tasks you are working on, grouped by tabs β€” My Task, Approvals, Review, Paused, and more. Each row shows the task title, its priority, its status, the project it belongs to, and its due date.

  • Tap a task row to open that task's detail screen.
  • Tap "View All" at the top right of the card to open the full Tasks page.
  • Drag a task by the handle at the left of the row to reorder your list. Reordering here only changes the order you see; it does not change the task itself.

See Tasks on Mobile for what you can do once a task is open.

Staying Up to Date

ANTE Mobile updates itself automatically β€” you never need to reinstall it to get the latest version. When a new version is ready:

  • A message appears at the bottom of the screen: "A new version of Ante is available. It will update automatically when you move to another page."
  • Tap Update now to apply it immediately, or simply keep using the app β€” it updates on its own the next time you move to another page.

Push Notifications

ANTE Mobile can notify you even when the app isn't open β€” a real notification from your phone's operating system, not just the in-app bell.

Turning It On

  1. Open the hamburger menu and tap Notifications.
  2. Turn on the Push notifications switch and allow the permission prompt your browser shows. If you deny it, the switch becomes disabled with a hint to allow notifications for Ante in your browser settings and try again.
  3. Below it, three switches let you choose what you get notified about β€” each defaults to on and can be turned off individually once push notifications are on:
    • Workspace notifications β€” tasks, approvals, filings, payroll, and other workspace events.
    • Chat messages β€” new direct and channel messages.
    • Support tickets β€” new tickets and replies on your tickets.

If your browser or device doesn't support push notifications, this page shows an explanatory message instead of the switches.

iPhone and iPad

Push notifications on iOS only work once you've added ANTE to your Home Screen (Safari 16.4 or later) β€” opening ANTE in a regular Safari tab cannot receive them.

The Enable Banner

If your browser's notification permission is still undecided, an Enable banner appears at the top of the Notifications list (tap the bell icon in the top-right of the header to open it). Tapping Enable turns push notifications on the same way the switch in Notification settings does.

Tapping a Push Notification

Tapping a push notification opens ANTE straight to what it's about β€” a chat notification opens that conversation, a ticket notification opens that ticket, and a workspace notification opens the related task, approval, or filing.

Filing a Concern

Anyone can raise a concern (a support ticket) from ANTE Mobile:

  • Open the hamburger menu and tap Raise a concern, or
  • On the Messages tab, tap the lifebuoy icon in the top-right corner.

Fill in the form:

  • Who should handle this? β€” choose Ante Management or My Company. Company tickets also require picking a Department; everyone in that department can see and respond to the ticket.
  • Subject β€” a short summary of your concern.
  • Description β€” what happened, what you expected, and any steps to reproduce it.
  • Attachments β€” optional screenshots or files.

You don't set a category or priority yourself β€” ANTE classifies both automatically after you submit.

Finding Your Tickets

The Messages tab organizes support tickets into sections:

  • My Tickets β€” every ticket you've raised, at any status.
  • Assigned to Me β€” ongoing tickets you've claimed to handle.
  • If you're eligible to handle tickets (a member of a department, or Ante staff), you'll also see Ongoing Tickets and Support Queue β€” department members see their department's company desk, and Ante staff see the global Ante desk.

Unread replies show a badge on the Messages tab and on the ticket's row in the list.

Inside a Ticket

Open a ticket to see its conversation, with the reference number (e.g. TKT-000123) shown in the header. Tap the info button to open Ticket details:

  • Status, Priority, and Category β€” editable by the requester or the assignee.
  • Claim / Release β€” for eligible handlers picking up or stepping back from a ticket.
  • Reopen β€” requester only, once the ticket is Resolved or Closed.
  • Delete β€” requester only, once the ticket is Resolved or Closed. This permanently removes the conversation and its attachments for everyone and cannot be undone.

Only the requester and the assignee can reply in a ticket. Eligible handlers can view and claim it; once a ticket is resolved, replies are locked until it's reopened.

Tapping a ticket link β€” including one from an email notification β€” opens the ticket directly in ANTE Mobile. If you're not signed in yet, logging in takes you straight to that ticket instead of the dashboard.

What to Expect

  • The same permissions. You see exactly what your role allows, just as on the desktop.
  • Live updates. New notifications and new comments arrive without you needing to refresh.
