Cashier Management
A cashier is a staff member who is allowed to sell on a POS device. Cashier Management is where you create those accounts, change their details and password, and switch them off when someone leaves the counter. You reach it at Point of Sale → Cashier Management.
Cashier List
The list shows each cashier's Cashier Code, Name, Username, Email and Status (Active or Inactive). Search by All Fields, Name, Cashier Code, Email or Username, and filter by Status. Click a row to open the cashier; click Add Cashier to create a new one.
Adding a Cashier
- Open the form
Click Add Cashier. The form has two cards: Cashier Information and Account Details.
- Fill in the detailsFirst Name*textThe cashier's first name.Last Name*textThe cashier's last name.Middle NametextOptional.Contact NumbertextOptional.Username*textWhat the cashier types to sign in on the device. It must not already be used by another account in your company.Email*emailMust be a valid address and not already used by another account in your company.Password*passwordAt least 6 characters.
- Create the cashier
Click Create Cashier. You are returned to the list.
Saving creates a normal user account with a Cashier role (the role is created for you the first time) and gives it a Cashier Code that the system generates and you cannot choose. The cashier signs in on a POS device with the username (or email) and password.
Cashier Details
Opening a cashier shows Cashier Information: Cashier Code, Full Name, Username, Email, Contact Number and Status. Three buttons sit at the top right.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Edit | Opens the edit form. |
| Edit with the key icon | Opens the Change Password dialog for this cashier. |
| Disable | Asks you to confirm, then sets the cashier to Inactive. The record is kept, so past sales still show their name. |
Editing a Cashier
The edit form has the same fields as the add form, except the password, plus an Active switch. Turn Active off to stop a cashier from selling, and back on to let them sell again. An inactive cashier cannot sign in on a device.
Disable a cashier instead of deleting them: their sales stay in the reports under their name, and you can switch them on again later.
