Push Notifications

Push notifications keep guardians informed in real time through the Guardian App. When a student enters or leaves school, when a payment is due, or when the school sends an announcement, the guardian receives a notification on their phone.

Overview

The Guardian App registers each guardian's device for push notifications automatically after they log in — there is no setup step for the guardian to perform. From that point on, notifications arrive on the device and are also collected in the in-app Notifications list.

Guardians control which notifications they receive from the Notification Settings screen, and can review past notifications from the Notifications list.

Notification Types

The app delivers four categories of notification:

TypeWhat it tells the guardian
Attendance AlertsReal-time alerts when the student enters or leaves school
Emergency AlertsCritical alerts about emergencies or urgent school matters
Payment RemindersNotifications about tuition fees and payment deadlines
General AnnouncementsSchool news, events, and general information

Attendance Alerts and Emergency Alerts are mandatory and cannot be turned off, for student safety. Only Payment Reminders and General Announcements can be switched on or off.

Troubleshooting

Notifications Not Received

  • Make sure the guardian is logged in to the Guardian App
  • Make sure the device has granted notification permission to the app
  • Check that the device has an internet connection
  • Confirm the notification type is not switched off in Notification Settings
  • Confirm the time is not inside the guardian's Quiet Hours (except Emergency Alerts)

Notifications Arriving Late

  • Check the Quiet Hours setting — non-emergency notifications are held during that window
  • Verify the device has a stable internet connection

💡 Note: Push notifications require the guardian to have the Guardian App installed and to have allowed notifications when prompted. Registration is automatic after login — no manual configuration is required.
