Customizing Your Dashboard

ANTE dashboards are built from widgets β€” self-contained panels you can show, hide, resize, and rearrange. Edit Mode lets you reshape a dashboard so it shows only what you care about, in the order and sizes that suit how you work. Your changes are saved to your own account, so the dashboard looks the same the next time you log in β€” and your layout is yours alone; it does not change what anyone else sees.

Overview

Edit Mode works the same way on every customizable dashboard in ANTE β€” your personal Dashboard as well as the Manpower, Asset, Project, Treasury, POS, Delivery, and Developer dashboards. The principle is identical across all of them:

  • A dashboard has a Main area (the wide column) and, on some dashboards, a Sidebar (the narrow column).
  • Each panel on the dashboard is a widget. Widgets can be moved between the Main area and the Sidebar.
  • Some widgets are shown by default; others are hidden and can be added from the Hidden Widgets panel.

While you are editing, a floating edit bar appears at the bottom of the screen with the controls to add widgets, reset, cancel, or finish.

Entering Edit Mode

Press the F9 key anywhere on a dashboard to turn Edit Mode on. The dashboard switches into editing, each widget gains a small control strip, and the edit bar slides in at the bottom of the screen.

Pressing F9 again saves your changes and leaves Edit Mode β€” it behaves the same as clicking Done.

Tip

There is no on-screen "Customize" button β€” F9 is the way in and the way out. Remember the shortcut and you can tidy any dashboard in seconds.

Editing Widgets

When Edit Mode is on, hovering over (or focusing) a widget shows a control strip with these buttons:

ControlIconWhat it does
Drag handlegrip / drag iconPress and drag to move the widget β€” reorder it within its column, or move it across to the other column (Main ↔ Sidebar).
Half widthsplit icon(Main-area widgets only) Make the widget take up half the width, sitting beside another half-width widget.
Full widthbar icon(Main-area widgets only) Make the widget span the entire width of the Main area.
HideΓ— (close)Remove the widget from the dashboard. It is not deleted β€” it moves into the Hidden Widgets panel and can be added back later.

A few things to note:

  • Size toggles appear for Main-area widgets only. Sidebar widgets always span the full width of the Sidebar, so they have no half/full choice.
  • Moving a widget to the Sidebar automatically sets it to full width; moving it to the Main area sets it to half width. You can then adjust the size again with the toggles.
  • The highlighted (active) size button shows the widget's current width.

Adding Hidden Widgets

To bring back a widget you've hidden β€” or to add an optional widget that is off by default:

  1. In the edit bar, click Add Widget. A full-width Hidden Widgets panel opens above the edit bar.
  2. The panel lists every hidden widget as a card. Each card shows the widget's icon, its name, and a label noting whether it belongs to the Main Area or the Sidebar.
  3. Drag a card onto the dashboard β€” drop it in the Main area or the Sidebar at the position you want. The widget becomes visible there.
  4. Click Close (the button you opened the panel with) to put the panel away, or press Esc.

If every widget is already on your dashboard, the panel shows the message "All widgets are visible on your dashboard."

Tip

The Add Widget button is also where you turn on optional widgets that are hidden by default (for example My Employment Information or My Schedules on the personal Dashboard).

The Edit Bar

The floating bar at the bottom of the screen holds the main actions. It only appears while you are in Edit Mode.

ButtonWhat it does
Add WidgetOpens the Hidden Widgets panel so you can drag widgets back onto the dashboard. While the panel is open, this button reads Close and puts it away again.
ResetRestores the dashboard to its original default layout β€” default widgets, sizes, and positions. This is saved immediately.
CancelDiscards every change you made in this editing session and leaves Edit Mode, returning the dashboard to how it looked when you pressed F9.
DoneSaves your layout and leaves Edit Mode. The button shows a brief loading state while it saves.
Warning

Reset takes effect right away and replaces your current layout with the defaults β€” there is no separate confirmation step, and Cancel will not bring a reset layout back. Use Reset only when you genuinely want to start over.

How Saving Works

  • Done (or pressing F9 to exit) saves your current layout to your account.
  • Cancel throws away the changes from the current session β€” the dashboard snaps back to the way it was when you entered Edit Mode.
  • Reset is saved the moment you click it, independent of Done or Cancel.

Because your layout is stored against your own account, it follows you across devices and sessions, and it does not affect any other user's dashboard.

Tips

  • Make it yours β€” press F9, hide the widgets you never look at, then resize and reorder the ones you use most.
  • F9 is both the way in and the way out β€” pressing it to leave saves your work, just like Done.
  • Same shortcut everywhere β€” the Manpower, Asset, Project, Treasury, POS, and Developer dashboards all customize the same way.
  • Hidden, not lost β€” hiding a widget never deletes it; it waits in the Add Widget panel until you want it back.

πŸ’‘ Note: Which widgets you see and how they behave depends on your role and your settings. For example, My Employment Information and My Schedules are hidden by default until you add them from the Hidden Widgets panel, and the Time Tracker widget adjusts what it tracks (real attendance vs. task time only) based on your employee record, schedule, and network β€” but the widget itself is always on your dashboard.
