Import Deals

The Import Deals page lets you add many deals to your CRM pipeline at once from an Excel spreadsheet, instead of creating them one by one. It guides you through a four-step process — upload, validate, process, and complete — and keeps a history of past imports that you can undo if needed.

Overview

Bulk importing is ideal when you are moving your sales pipeline into ANTE for the first time, or when you regularly track deals in a spreadsheet (including an exported Google Sheets CRM) and want to bring them in together.

The import works in four guided steps shown at the top of the page:

  1. Upload File – Choose your Excel file.
  2. Validate – Review which rows are valid, which have errors, and which have warnings.
  3. Process – Confirm and create the deals.
  4. Complete – See a summary of what was imported.

You can move back to a previous step at any time before the import is finished by clicking a completed step in the progress bar.

Finding Import Deals

In the sidebar, open CRM and select Import Deals.

The Import Steps

Step 1: Upload File

  1. Click Download Template to get the ready-made Excel template. The template comes pre-filled with sample rows, drop-down lists for Deal Type, Deal Source, Relationship Owner, and Stage, and a separate Instructions sheet that explains every column.

  2. Fill in your deals in the Import Data sheet, then delete the sample rows before saving.

  3. Add your file by either:

    • Dragging and dropping it onto the upload area, or
    • Clicking the upload area to browse and select a file.

Only Excel or CSV files (.xlsx, .xls, or .csv) are accepted. Once selected, the file name and size are shown, and you can remove it with the × button to choose a different one.

  4. Click Upload & Validate.

After uploading, the system reads and checks every row, then moves you to the Validate step.

Importing from Google Sheets

You do not have to reformat your existing spreadsheet to match the template exactly. The import can auto-detect common column headings — for example, Opportunity is read as the deal name, MRR as Monthly Recurring Revenue, Initial Cost as Budget/Contract Amount, Probability as Win Probability, Closing Date as Close Date, and Stage as the pipeline stage.

Step 2: Validate

This step shows the results of checking your file. At the top, four summary cards display the totals:

CardMeaning
Total RowsAll rows found in your file
ValidRows that are ready to import with no issues
ErrorsRows that cannot be imported and will be skipped
WarningsRows that can be imported but need your approval first

Below the cards are three tabs so you can review the rows:

  • Total Rows – Every row, each showing its row number, deal name, client company, deal type, MRR, close date, and a status badge (Valid, Errors, Warning, or Approved).
  • Errors – Only the rows with problems, listing the exact error message(s) for each. These rows will be skipped during import.
  • Warnings – Rows with minor issues that need approval. Each row has a checkbox and lists its warning message(s).

Approving warnings

If there are warnings, you must approve them before you can continue:

  1. Open the Warnings tab.
  2. Tick the checkbox next to each warning row you want to include, or click Select All to choose all of them at once.
  3. Click Approve (the button shows how many rows are selected). Approved rows change their status to Approved.

When all rows are either valid or approved (and at least one row is importable), the Continue button becomes available.

  1. Click Continue to move on, or Back to return to the upload step.
Warning

You cannot continue while any warning rows are still unapproved. Either approve them or fix the data and re-upload.

Step 3: Process

This step shows a confirmation summary before anything is created:

  • The file name being imported
  • Valid Records – how many deals will be created
  • Skipped (errors) – how many error rows will be left out (shown only if there are any)
  • Warnings approved – how many approved warning rows are included (shown only if there are any)

Review the numbers, then:

  • Click Process Import to create the deals, or
  • Click Back to return to the validation step.

While the import runs, the button shows Processing….

Step 4: Complete

When the import finishes, you see a success summary with three figures:

  • Deals Created – the number of deals successfully added
  • Skipped – rows that were not imported (validation errors plus any that failed during processing)
  • Total Rows – the total rows in your file

It also shows the file name and the date and time the import completed. If any rows were skipped or failed, a note explains how many and why.

From here you can:

  • Click View Deals to go to the Deals page and see your imported deals.
  • Click Import Another to start a fresh import from the beginning.

Helpful formatting notes
  • Currency symbols (such as ₱ or $) are stripped from amount columns automatically.
  • A "Month Year" date such as March 2026 is treated as the end of that month.
  • The Deal Type and Deal Source lists in the template come from the types and sources already configured in your CRM, so set those up first if you want to use them.

Previous Imports and Undoing an Import

Below the import steps, the page lists your Previous Imports — the completed import batches. Each entry shows the file name, how many deals were created, and the date it was run.

To undo an import:

  1. Find the import in the Previous Imports list.
  2. Click Delete Import.
  3. Confirm in the dialog that appears.

This removes all the deals that were created by that import. The list shows a Rolled Back badge on imports that have already been undone, and those can no longer be deleted again.

Warning

Deleting an import removes every deal it created. Use this only when you imported the wrong file or need to redo an import.

Common Tasks

Import deals for the first time

  1. Go to CRMImport Deals.
  2. Click Download Template and fill it in.
  3. Delete the sample rows and save the file.
  4. Drag the file in (or browse to it) and click Upload & Validate.
  5. Review the summary, approve any warnings, and click Continue.
  6. Confirm the numbers and click Process Import.
  7. Click View Deals to check your imported pipeline.

Bring in an existing spreadsheet (e.g., Google Sheets)

  1. Export your spreadsheet as an Excel file (.xlsx).
  2. On the Import Deals page, upload it directly — the system tries to match your column headings automatically.
  3. Use the Validate step to confirm everything mapped correctly and fix any error rows.

Fix rows that show errors

  1. On the Validate step, open the Errors tab.
  2. Read the error message for each row.
  3. Correct those rows in your spreadsheet.
  4. Re-upload the corrected file. (Error rows are skipped, so you can also import the valid rows now and bring in the fixed rows in a later import.)

Undo an import you didn't mean to run

  1. Scroll to Previous Imports.
  2. Click Delete Import on the relevant file.
  3. Confirm to remove all deals from that import.
Tip

Rows with errors are always skipped, and rows with warnings must be approved before they can be imported — so you stay in control of exactly which deals are created.

  • Deals – View and manage the deals you imported
  • Companies – Companies created during import appear here
  • Deal Type – Set up the deal types used in the template
  • Deal Source – Set up the deal sources used in the template
  • Relationship Owners – The owners available in the template
