Login Security
Below the main form, an admin-only Login Security panel sets company-wide sign-in and password policies that apply to every employee. It is visible only to full-access (Super Admin) accounts — having the developer flag alone does not show this panel.
Login Security Fields
| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Require email verification on new-device login | Toggle (saves instantly) | On | When on, employees signing in from an unrecognized device must enter a code emailed to them. When off, logins skip the email code. |
| Restrict concurrent sessions | Toggle (saves instantly) | Off | When on, a new login signs the account out of every other active session — only one active session per user. When off, users can stay signed in on several devices at once. |
| Password expiry (days) | Number | 360 | Forces a password change every N days. Leave empty to disable expiry. |
| Expiry warning (days before) | Number | 15 | Warns users this many days before their password expires. |
| Password history count | Number | 5 | Rejects reuse of the last N passwords. 0 disables the check. |
| Idle timeout (minutes) | Number | Disabled | Signs users out after N minutes of inactivity. Leave empty to disable. |
| Inactivity deactivation (days) | Number | Disabled | Deactivates accounts that haven't logged in for N days. Leave empty to disable. |
| Login notice | Text area | Empty | A notice (for example, an authorized-use notice) shown to everyone on the sign-in screen before they log in. Leave empty to show nothing. |
Saving Login Security Settings
- Require email verification on new-device login and Restrict concurrent sessions save immediately when you flip the toggle — there is no separate save step for these two.
- The number fields and the Login notice text area are saved together: change any of them, then click Save Changes at the bottom of the panel. The button stays disabled until something has actually changed.
Password Composition Rules
Whenever a password is set anywhere in ANTE — a new employee account, an admin resetting someone's password, a user changing their own password, or during sign-up — the password must:
- Be at least 8 characters long
- Include both uppercase and lowercase letters
- Include at least one number
- Include at least one special character
- Not resemble the account's username or email
- Not be a common word or a predictable keyboard/number pattern (e.g.
qwerty,123456, repeated or sequential characters)
These rules are shown as a live checklist (each rule checks off as it's satisfied) wherever a new password is typed.
Forced Password Change
A user is required to set a new password immediately at their next sign-in when:
- Their account was just created by an administrator.
- An administrator reset their password.
- Their password has passed the Password expiry (days) limit set above.
When this happens, the user is taken to a dedicated Change Your Password screen instead of the dashboard, and can't navigate anywhere else until they set a new (policy-compliant) password — the only other option is to sign out. Users approaching their expiry date (inside the Expiry warning window) instead see a dismissible warning after logging in, with a link to change their password from My Profile → Security.
Purchasing
Below Login Security, an admin-only Purchasing panel sets the company's canvassing policy. It is visible only to full-access (Super Admin) accounts — having the developer flag alone does not show this panel.
| Field | Type | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum canvass suppliers | Number | 2 | 1–5 | The minimum number of suppliers a purchasing canvass must compare before it can be submitted. Applies to the Canvass Sheet workflow step and both Canvassing pages. |
Change the value and click Save — the button stays disabled until the number is valid (1–5) and actually different from the saved value. Canvass screens already open pick up the new minimum right away.
