Groups

Item groups let you bundle several existing items together as a single sellable item (for example, a kit or package). A group is a special type of item — it has its own SKU, name, and selling price, and it lists the member items and the quantity of each.

The Groups tab lives inside the Items page, alongside All Items, Variations, and Deleted.

How to Get Here

  1. In the sidebar, open AssetsMaster Settings Item Master.
  2. On the Items page, click the Groups tab.

Page Layout

At the top of the Items page you'll see a row of summary stat cards, then the tab bar, then the table.

  • Add Group button (top right) — starts a new item group. (This button appears only while the Groups tab is active.)
  • TabsAll Items, Variations, Groups, Deleted. The Groups tab shows only items of type Item Group.
  • Search — search the list by Item Name or SKU.
  • Groups table — one row per group.

  • Delete — remove the group.

Clicking anywhere on a row also opens that group's detail page.

Common Tasks

Creating an Item Group

  1. On the Groups tab, click Add Group.
  2. The Group View form opens. The Item Type is fixed to Item Group and cannot be changed here.
  3. Under Basic Information, fill in:
    • Item Name (required)
    • SKU (required) — by default Auto-generate SKU is ticked, which builds the SKU from the item name. Untick it to type your own SKU.
    • Description (optional)
  4. Under Group Items, add the items that make up the group (see the next task). At least one item is required.
  5. Under Pricing, optionally set the group's Selling Price.
  6. Under Classification, optionally set Brand, Category, Branch, and Keywords. You can create a new brand or keyword on the spot.
  7. Under Settings, optionally tick Enable in POS and/or Enable in E-Commerce.
  8. Under Accounting, optionally override the GL accounts for this item — Inventory, COGS, Shrinkage, and GRNI. Leave these blank to use the company defaults.
  9. Click Create Item Group.

Adding Items to a Group

Inside the Group Items section of the group form:

  1. In the Search items to add box, type at least two characters of an item's name or SKU.
  2. Pick an item from the dropdown of results to add it. New items start with a quantity of 1.
  3. Repeat to add more items.

Notes:

  • You cannot add an item group inside another item group.
  • You cannot add a service item to a group — services are non-inventoried and are shown as Service (greyed out) in the search results.
  • You cannot add the same item twice — items already in the group are marked as Added in the dropdown.

Changing an Item's Quantity

In the group items table, edit the number in the Quantity column for any row. The minimum quantity is 1.

Removing an Item from the Group

In the group items table, click the × (remove) button on the item's row.

Editing a Group

  1. On the Groups tab, find the group.
  2. Open the row's action menu and choose Edit (or click the row to open it, then edit from the detail page).

Deleting a Group

  1. On the Groups tab, find the group.
  2. Open the row's action menu and choose Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.
Note

The Delete action is unavailable for an item that is itself a member of a group.
