ANTE User Manual

Raw Logs Browse

Raw Logs is the complete list of every attendance punch captured by the system — from biometric devices, facial recognition, the mobile timer, manual entries, and Excel imports. You can review each punch in detail, delete erroneous records, and restore deleted ones.

Accessing Raw Logs

  1. In the sidebar, go to Manpower.
  2. Click Timekeeping Logs to expand the menu.
  3. Select Raw Logs Browse.

Related: every raw log created by a facial-recognition kiosk scan has a matching entry in Face Scan Logs, which records the attempt even when it was rejected (look-alike, no match, poor image quality, or no internet). Use Face Scan Logs to see why a kiosk failed to recognize someone; use Raw Logs to see the punches that were actually recorded.

The Raw Logs List

The table shows all attendance punches for the last 30 days by default.

Columns

ColumnDescription

Filters

  • Date range — narrow to a specific period (hidden when browsing a specific import batch).
  • Source — show only punches from a particular capture method.
  • Deleted Logs — controls which records are visible:
    • Active Only (default) — only non-deleted punches are shown.
    • Include Deleted — shows both active and soft-deleted punches side by side.

Search by Employee Name or Employee Code.

Export

Click the Export button (top right) to download the current view as an Excel file.

Viewing a Raw Log's Details

Click any row to open the detail page for that punch. The detail page shows:

  • Overview — employee name, employee code, source badge, Time In / Time Out, Duration, Created At, Updated At.
  • Scan Photos — the facial-recognition frames captured at clock-in and/or clock-out (shown only when photos exist).
  • Time-In Location — location name, IP address, GPS-enabled flag, latitude/longitude, and a mini-map link.
  • Time-Out Location — the same location fields for the clock-out punch (shown only when present).
  • Device — name, location, and ID of the capturing device (shown only when present).
  • Task / Project — linked task title and project (shown only when present).
  • Additional — remarks and the import batch file name (if the punch came from an import).

If the log has been deleted, a banner at the top of the detail page shows who deleted it and when.

Deleting a Raw Log

Deleting a raw log is a soft delete — the punch is hidden from regular views but not permanently removed. The day's timekeeping is recomputed automatically after a deletion so payroll calculations stay accurate.

Permission required: the Delete Raw Logs permission (MANPOWER_TIME_KEEPING_DELETE_RAW_LOGS). Contact your administrator if the Delete button is not visible.

Stage restriction: deletion is only allowed while the payroll cutoff period covering that punch is in the Timekeeping stage. Once the cutoff has moved to Pending, Processed, Approved, or Posted, deletion (and restoration) is blocked, and the system will show an explanatory message.

To delete from the list

  1. Find the row for the punch you want to remove.
  2. Click the Delete icon (trash icon) on the right side of the row.
  3. A confirmation dialog appears showing the employee name and the date of the punch. Review the details.
  4. Click Delete to confirm. The row disappears from the Active Only view and the day's timekeeping is recomputed.

To delete from the detail page

  1. Open the punch's detail page by clicking its row.
  2. Click the Delete button in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Confirm in the dialog that appears.

Restoring a Deleted Log

Deleted logs can be restored at any time, as long as the payroll cutoff is still in the Timekeeping stage.

To restore from the list

  1. In the Deleted Logs filter, select Include Deleted.
  2. Deleted punches appear in the list alongside active ones.
  3. Click the Restore icon on the deleted row.
  4. The log is immediately restored and the day's timekeeping is recomputed.

To restore from the detail page

  1. Open the deleted punch's detail page (use Include Deleted filter to find it).
  2. A red banner at the top shows who deleted it and when.
  3. Click the Restore button in the top-right corner.

Audit Trail

Soft-deleted logs are never permanently erased. You can always review who removed a punch and when:

  • In the list: switch to Include Deleted, then enable the Deleted By column via the column picker. The column shows the name of the user who deleted the punch and the date of deletion.
  • In the detail page: a banner at the top of the page shows the deleting user's name and the exact date and time of deletion.

Common Scenarios

Removing a duplicate punch

If a biometric device recorded the same employee twice for the same moment:

  1. Open Raw Logs.
  2. Find the duplicate entry (same employee, same date, similar time).
  3. Click Delete on the duplicate row and confirm.
  4. Timekeeping is recomputed automatically.

Recovering an accidentally deleted punch

  1. Change the Deleted Logs filter to Include Deleted.
  2. Find the punch (it shows a Deleted badge in the Deleted By column).
  3. Click Restore — or open the detail page and click Restore there.

Viewing punches from a specific import batch

From the Time Importation history page, click the link for a completed import batch. Raw Logs opens pre-filtered to that batch's punches — the date filter is hidden and all rows from that batch are shown. Delete/Restore actions are available here as well.

Troubleshooting

Delete button is not visible. You do not have the Delete Raw Logs permission. Ask your administrator to grant it.

Delete button is visible but clicking it shows an error about the cutoff stage. The payroll period covering this punch has already moved past the Timekeeping stage (it may be Pending, Processed, Approved, or Posted). Raw logs can only be deleted or restored while the cutoff is still in the Timekeeping stage. If a correction is needed after payroll is in progress, contact your payroll administrator.

The punch I want to restore is not visible. Switch the Deleted Logs filter from Active Only to Include Deleted.
