Hiring
Hiring is where you fill an open position from start to finish: someone raises a requisition to say a position is needed, applicants are collected and moved through the hiring stages, interviews are scheduled and scored, and an offer is made to the chosen candidate. The module lives under Manpower β Hiring and has five screens: Hiring Dashboard, Requisitions, Applicants, Interviews and Offers.
The normal flow is:
- Raise a requisition and get it approved.
- Publish it so candidates can apply online, or add applicants yourself.
- Move each applicant across the stages of the hiring board.
- Schedule interviews and collect each interviewer's rating and comments.
- Make an offer to the chosen applicant and record their answer.
Hiring Dashboard
Open Manpower β Hiring β Hiring Dashboard for a one-screen picture of how hiring is going. It is read-only; the figures refresh as requisitions, applicants and offers change.
The five counters at the top show:
Below the counters are two panels:
- Pipeline Funnel β one bar per hiring stage showing how many applicants are sitting in it right now. Use it to see where candidates are piling up. Until you add applicants it shows "No data yet".
- Source Effectiveness β for each applicant source (Referral, LinkedIn, Career Page and so on) the number of applicants it brought and how many of them were hired. Use it to decide where to advertise.
Requisitions
A requisition is the formal request to hire for a position. Open Manpower β Hiring β Requisitions to see them as cards. Each card shows the title, the requisition code (generated automatically), the position, the status, how many applicants have applied against the positions needed (for example 3 / 2), the branch, the created date and who requested it. Use the search box and the status chips (All, Draft, Pending Approval, Approved, Rejected, Filled, Cancelled) to narrow the list.
Raising a Requisition
- Open the formGo to Requisitions and click New Requisition.
- Fill in Basic InformationRequisition Title*A short name for this hire, for example "Senior Software Engineer Hire".Position Title*Picked from your list of roles. The role you choose becomes the position title.Branch / DepartmentThe branch the new hire will belong to. Optional.Positions NeededHow many people you want to hire. Defaults to 1 and cannot be less than 1.Employment TypeFull Time (default), Part Time, Contract, Internship or Temporary.
- Fill in Compensation & TimelineSalary Min / Salary MaxThe pay range you are prepared to offer. Optional; shown on the requisition as a range.Target Hire DateWhen you would like the person to have started.
- Fill in Description & RequirementsJob DescriptionThe role and its responsibilities.RequirementsThe qualifications and skills needed.JustificationWhy the position is needed β this is what the approver reads.
- SaveClick New Requisition at the bottom. The requisition is created as a Draft.
Approval and Publishing
Open a requisition from the list to see its details, its applicant pipeline summary, its timeline and the buttons that apply to its current status.
- Draft β click Submit for Approval when the details are complete. You can still Edit a Draft.
- Pending Approval β a user with access to the screen clicks Approve. The requisition then records who approved it and when. It can still be edited while pending.
- Approved β the Publish button appears. Once published, a Published badge is shown and Copy Application Link becomes available. Share that link anywhere; anyone who opens it lands on the careers site and can apply for exactly this position. Click Unpublish to stop taking online applications.
The status list also includes Rejected, Filled and Cancelled, and they can be filtered on the list. This screen's buttons move a requisition through Draft, Pending Approval and Approved only; the other statuses are not set from the buttons on the detail page.
Only Approved requisitions can be published, and only published requisitions accept applications from the careers site. A requisition that is still in Draft or Pending Approval cannot be applied to online.
Screening Questions
On the requisition detail page the Screening Questions panel lets you ask every online applicant a few questions on the application form. Type the question, choose its type β Short Answer, Long Answer, Multiple Choice, Yes / No or Number β tick Required if it must be answered, and add it. Click Generate with AI to get suggested questions based on the requisition; save the ones you like and dismiss the rest. Answers given by applicants are stored with their application.
Applicants
Open Manpower β Hiring β Applicants to see the hiring board. Every stage of your hiring pipeline is a column and every applicant is a card in the column they have reached. A new company starts with seven stages: Applied, Screening, Interview, Assessment, Offer, Hired and Rejected.
How Applicants Get on the Board
- Online application β when a candidate applies through the link of a published requisition, an applicant is created automatically in the first stage (Applied) with the source Career Page, along with their resume and their screening answers.
- Added by hand β for walk-ins, referrals and agency candidates, use Add Applicant (below).
Adding an Applicant
- Open the formOn the board click Add Applicant.
- Fill in Applicant InformationRequisition*The position the person is applying for.First Name / Last Name*The applicant's name.Middle NameOptional.Email*Where you can reach the applicant.PhoneOptional.
- Fill in Source & NotesSourceWhere the applicant came from: Job Board, Referral, LinkedIn, Walk-in, Agency, Company Website or Other. This feeds the Source Effectiveness panel on the dashboard.Source DetailsFor example the referrer's name or the job-board URL.NotesAnything else worth remembering about the person.
- SaveClick Add Applicant. The applicant lands in the first stage of the pipeline.
Working the Board
- Filter β the drop-down at the top right limits the board to one requisition; leave it on All Requisitions to see everyone.
- Move an applicant β drag the card to another column. ANTE records who moved them and when, and the move shows in the applicant's Timeline.
- Open an applicant β click a card to open a side panel with four tabs: Profile (contact details, source, applied date, rating, resume link, notes), Timeline (every stage change), Interviews (schedule an interview and add feedback) and Evaluations (submitted evaluation scorecards, with each criterion's score and a recommendation from Strong Yes to Strong No).
Dropping a card into Hired marks the applicant as Hired, and dropping it into Rejected marks them Rejected. Hired applicants count toward Hires This Month and Avg Time to Hire; rejected and hired applicants no longer count as Active Applicants.
Interviews
Interviews are scheduled from an applicant's side panel and then followed on Manpower β Hiring β Interviews, which lists every interview with the applicant, type, length, location, date and time and a status badge. Filter with the chips: All, Scheduled, Completed, Cancelled, No Show.
Scheduling an Interview
- Open the applicantOn the Applicants board click the applicant's card, go to the Interviews tab and click Schedule Interview.
- Fill in the formDate & Time*When the interview takes place.Duration (min)Length in minutes. Defaults to 60.Interview TypeIn Person, Video Call, Phone, Panel or Technical.LocationThe office, room number and so on. Optional.Meeting LinkFor video interviews. Optional.Interviewers*Tick one or more employees who will interview. At least one is required.NotesInstructions or reminders for the interview. Optional.
- SaveClick Schedule Interview. The interview starts as Scheduled.
Giving Feedback
- Open the interviewIn the applicant's Interviews tab, a scheduled interview shows an Add Feedback button.
- Rate and commentOverall Rating*Click 1 to 5 stars.Comments*Your assessment of the candidate.
- SubmitClick Submit Feedback. The rating and comments are saved under your own name as an interviewer of that interview; the other interviewers' entries show as Pending until they submit theirs.
Submitting feedback does not change the interview's status badge by itself, and moving an applicant to another stage is always a separate action on the board. Move the card once the interviews are done and the team has decided.
Offers
Open Manpower β Hiring β Offers to follow the job offers made to applicants. Each row shows the applicant, the position and employment type, the offered salary, the start date (if set) and the offer's status. Filter with the chips: All, Draft, Pending Approval, Approved, Sent, Accepted, Declined.
An offer moves through these statuses:
An offer holds the position title, the salary amount, the employment type, an optional start date, an optional expiry date and the benefits offered. An applicant can have only one offer.
The Offers screen currently lists offers and lets you filter them by status. Creating an offer, approving it and recording the applicant's reply are not yet buttons on this screen; they are performed through ANTE's offer service rather than from the page. Ask your administrator if your company has them enabled in another way.
After an Offer Is Accepted
An accepted offer marks the applicant as Hired, which updates the dashboard counters. ANTE does not create the employee record on its own at that point. Turning a hired applicant into an employee is a separate step that uses the same information as adding an employee in HRIS: it needs a username, the role, employee code, payroll group, schedule, branch, employment status, monthly rate (taken from the offer when left blank) and start date. It then creates the account and the employee record with a contract, and emails the new employee a link to set their password. An applicant can be converted only once, and only after being Hired.
If your screen does not offer this conversion, add the person in HRIS manually, following the Onboard an Employee tutorial.
How It Connects
Set up first
- Employee Records β holds the branches and roles that requisitions and applicants refer to.
Feeds into
- Employee Records β is where a hired applicant becomes an employee with a contract, payroll group and schedule.
- Onboard an Employee β walks through setting up the new hire once an offer is accepted.
