Chart of Accounts
The chart of accounts is the list of ledger accounts your company books to: Cash, Accounts Payable, Sales, Rent Expense and so on. Every journal line, every financial report and every automatic posting from another module refers to one of these accounts, so it is the first thing to set up in Accounting.
You reach it at Treasury → Accounting → Chart of Accounts.
Chart of Accounts List
Accounts are shown as a tree: a parent account can have sub-accounts, and the arrow beside a code expands or collapses its children. The two icon buttons in the header, Expand all and Collapse all, open or close the whole tree. Click a row to open the account.
When your company uses Multibook, a status line shows the latest chart sync and whether ANTE is watching Multibook for changes, with a Resolve button for accounts that need a decision (visible with the accounting configuration permission). If any change to an account could not be saved to Multibook, a banner offers Review, where you can retry or discard each one.
Add an Account
Click Add Account in the header. The form asks for:
When the chart is kept in Multibook, the form says so: new accounts are also created in Multibook under your own Multibook account. If you have not connected one, the form tells you to connect it first.
Actions Menu
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Seed standard chart | Only shown while the chart is empty. Creates the standard accounts that are missing; existing accounts are untouched. |
| Export to Excel | Downloads the chart as a spreadsheet. |
| Import from Excel | A three-step wizard: Upload a .xlsx, .xls or .csv file, Review the accounts it found (each marked New or Update, with totals to create, to update and skipped), then Done. Column headers and order do not matter; at minimum the file needs an account code, an account name, an account type and the normal balance. The parent account and category are optional. A file exported from ANTE is recognised instantly; for other layouts the AI maps the columns and works out the hierarchy. |
| Sync with Multibook | Only shown once Multibook is switched on in Cloud Credentials. Downloads the whole chart from Multibook in one step: existing accounts are updated, never duplicated, accounts deleted in Multibook are switched off, and an ANTE account sharing a code with a different Multibook account is replaced only if it has no postings. The full rules, the attention list and the change monitor are described in Syncing the Chart of Accounts with Multibook. |
| Delete All | Full-access administrators only. Deletes the entire chart and every journal entry, posted and draft, reversing the cash balances they backed. GL account mappings and tax settings are kept. Needs a Telegram one-time code and cannot be undone. |
Account Detail
Opening an account shows its details and, if it has children, a Sub-accounts table you can click through. The header's Edit Account button opens the edit form.
Edit an account
The edit form has the same fields as the add form, except that the Account Code cannot be changed, plus:
For a chart kept in Multibook, the name, debit/credit, statement, input-required flags, FX revaluation and active status are also saved to Multibook under your own account. The other fields stay in ANTE only.
- Find the account
Expand the tree to locate it, then click the row.
- Click Edit Account
Change what you need; the code stays fixed.
- Save
The account updates everywhere it is used.
You create 1010 Cash in Bank as an Asset with Normal Balance Debit and Balance Sheet Section Current Asset, under the parent 1000 Cash and Cash Equivalents. FS Type is left at Auto and resolves to Balance Sheet. Reports then show 1010 under 1000, and a debit of 5,000 to it increases the balance by 5,000.
