P&L Schedules
P&L Schedules are the working papers behind every income-statement line. The summary lists each account's movement for the fiscal year by income-statement section. Open an account to see the ledger lines behind its total, so each line on the Income Statement can be traced back to the general ledger.
Where to Find It
- Click Treasury in the sidebar
- Open Accounting, then Schedules, and select P&L Schedules
Choosing the Period and View
Click Apply after changing the dates. The period always runs from the fiscal-year start to the As at date.
Reading the Schedules
Revenue shows as a negative number and expense as a positive one. This is the working-paper convention (credits negative, debits positive), chosen so each summary line adds up exactly to the account's balance per the general ledger. Do not read a negative revenue figure as a loss.
- Summary: each account's movement for the period, grouped by income-statement section. Click a row to open the account's schedule.
- Ledger (detail): the posted journal lines behind one account.
- Reconciliation: the same lines grouped by the dimension in Group by.
- Outstanding balance: shown only for accrual accounts that were opted in to open-item tracking on the Chart of Accounts.
Click any amount to open Amount Breakdown and see how the figure was built.
Group by Month is a quick way to see seasonality in an expense account, and Group by Department shows who is spending.
Apply Reporting Currency and Export
Apply Reporting Currency translates the schedule into a reporting or group currency, using each account's mapped rate, without posting anything. Reset to functional returns to your company's currency, and Export to Excel downloads what is on screen.
