Lease Ledger
Treasury → Leased Assets → Lease Ledger shows, for each lease, how much of the original liability and right-of-use (ROU) asset is left at a chosen date. It answers "what do we still owe on this lease, and what is the asset worth on our books?"
Reading the Ledger
One row per lease that is no longer a draft. Use the search box to find a lease and the As of date to see the position on a past or future date; leave it empty for today. Click a row to open the lease.
Only periods whose monthly journal is Posted and whose due date is on or before the As of date are counted. If a month has not been posted yet, the ledger does not yet reflect it, so post due journals first on Lease Journals.
The figures should agree with the lease liability and ROU asset accounts in the Trial Balance once every due month is posted.
How It Connects
Set up first
- Leased Assets — leases must be active to appear in the ledger.
Gets its data from
- Lease Journals — each posted monthly journal moves a period into Accumulated Depreciation and Principal Paid.
Feeds into
- Lease Liabilities — the liability movement report for the same accounts.
- Trial Balance — the posted lease journals are part of the account balances reported there.
