Journal Vouchers
A journal voucher is one accounting transaction: a group of debit and credit lines that together balance. Where Journal Entries lists every line on its own, Journal Vouchers lists the transactions as a whole, one row per voucher. It is the place to see everything that reached (or is waiting to reach) the books, whatever its origin: an AI-read invoice, a manual journal, an imported ledger, or an entry ANTE posted for you from another module.
You reach it at Treasury → Accounting → Journal Vouchers.
Journal Voucher List
Posted vouchers are listed by their posting date; drafts, which have no posting date yet, are listed by their document date. The default range is the current month. Click a row to open the voucher.
The New journal entry button in the header opens the manual journal form; see New Journal Entry.
Journal Voucher Detail
The header shows the posting badge and a source badge. The summary strip gives the transaction date, posting date, total debit and total credit in company currency, and a Balanced or Out of balance flag. Below it are five tabs.
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Lines | Each line's number, account, description, cost centre, currency, business partner (only when the voucher has one), rate, debit and credit, plus company currency columns for foreign vouchers. The foot shows per-currency subtotals and the company-currency totals. |
| Details | The voucher record: title, doc code, type, vendor, invoice number, amount, posting and extraction status, source, AI model and whether the lines were reviewed. The View source document button opens the voucher's document page, where you can post or suspend it. |
| GL Impact | The lines rolled up per account: Debit, Credit and Net (debit minus credit). It is the voucher's total effect on each ledger account. |
| Attachments | The files behind the voucher, read-only. |
| Activity | The audit trail of the voucher, and any corrections submitted against it. |
Edit lines
Edit lines appears on a draft manual journal only and takes you to the journal entry form. A posted voucher cannot be edited; suspend it from its document page first, or reverse it.
Reverse a voucher
Reversing is how you correct a posted voucher without erasing history. The Reverse button appears on a posted voucher that is not itself a reversal and has not already been reversed. It opens the Reverse voucher dialog.
- Open the posted voucher
Click the voucher in the list and make sure it shows Posted.
- Click Reverse
Choose the reversal date and, if you wish, type a reason.
- Confirm
ANTE creates a new, already-posted voucher titled “Reversal of …” with every debit and credit swapped, and opens it. The original keeps its lines and gains a Reversed badge.
A posted voucher debits Office Supplies 10,000 and credits Accounts Payable 10,000. Reversing it on 5 April posts a second voucher that credits Office Supplies 10,000 and debits Accounts Payable 10,000. Together the two vouchers net to zero in the ledger from 5 April, and both remain visible for audit. A reversal can itself not be reversed; post a new voucher if the correction was wrong.
The reversal is refused if its date is in a locked period. Pick a date in an open period.
