Monthly Transition
Treasury → Leased Assets → Monthly Transition is a month-by-month roll-forward of the whole lease portfolio: how the total lease liability and the net right-of-use (ROU) asset move from the first month of any lease to the last. It is useful for planning the interest and depreciation you will book each month.
Reading the Report
One row per calendar month, sortable by any column. The report has no filters or detail pages; it is built from the schedules of all active leases together.
The monthly flows (interest, principal, payment, depreciation) are exact. The opening and closing balances are running totals that start from the combined initial liability and initial ROU asset of all active leases, so they reach about zero at the end of the longest lease. The report reads the generated schedules, so it shows scheduled amounts whether or not a month has been posted yet.
How It Connects
Set up first
- Leased Assets — each activated lease contributes its schedule to this roll-forward.
Gets its data from
- Repayment Schedule — the same periods, listed per lease instead of totalled per month.
Feeds into
- Lease Ledger — shows the same balances lease by lease at a chosen date.
