Section Management

Section Management allows you to create and manage class sections within each grade level.

Overview

Sections are class groupings within a grade level. Students are assigned to specific sections for class organization and attendance tracking.

Page Layout

• Add Section button - Create new section
• Filter by Grade - View sections by grade
• Sections Table - List of all sections

Section Information

Each section includes:

Field	Description
Section Name	Name (e.g., "Section A")
Grade Level	Associated grade
Adviser	Class adviser
Room	Assigned classroom
Capacity	Maximum students
Enrolled	Current enrollment
Status	Active/Inactive

Common Tasks

Creating a Section

1. Click + Add Section
2. Enter details:
   • Section Name - Name or identifier
   • Grade Level - Select grade
   • Adviser - Assign teacher (optional)
   • Room - Classroom assignment
   • Capacity - Maximum students
3. Click Save

Editing a Section

1. Find section in list
2. Click Edit
3. Update information
4. Save changes

Assigning an Adviser

1. Open section
2. Select Adviser
3. Search for teacher
4. Save

Viewing Section Roster

1. Click on section name
2. Go to Students tab
3. View all students in section
4. Export roster if needed

Deactivating a Section

1. Find section
2. Change status to Inactive
3. Save

Note: Reassign students before deactivating.

Section Naming

Common naming conventions:

Style	Example
Letters	Section A, Section B
Numbers	Section 1, Section 2
Names	Rose, Dahlia, Orchid
Mixed	Grade 6-A, Grade 6-B

Capacity Planning

Track section capacity:

• Capacity - Maximum students allowed
• Enrolled - Current student count
• Available - Remaining slots
• Full - No more capacity

Tips

• Clear Names - Use consistent naming
• Balance Classes - Distribute students evenly
• Set Capacity - Define reasonable limits
• Assign Advisers - Every section needs an adviser
• Update Annually - Review sections each year
