Departments help organize users and manage access by organizational structure.

Overview
Set up your organization's departmental structure. Departments are used to group users, control access, and generate reports by department.

Department Information
Each department has:

| Department Code | Short code |
| Description | What the department does |
| Manager | Department head |
| Parent Department | For hierarchical structure |
| Status | Active/Inactive |
Common Tasks
Creating a Department
- Click + Add Department
- Fill in details:
- Name - Department name
- Code - Short code (e.g., HR, IT)
- Description - Brief description
- Manager - Select department head
- Parent - If this is a sub-department
- Click Save
Editing a Department
- Find department in list
- Click Edit
- Update information
- Click Save
Creating Sub-Departments
- Click + Add Department
- Fill in details
- Select Parent Department
- Save
Example hierarchy:

- Open department
- Change status to Inactive
- Save
Note: Deactivating doesn't affect user assignments - reassign users first.

- Parent Departments - Top level
- Sub-Departments - Under parent
- Multiple Levels - Deep hierarchies if needed
