Gate Management

Gate Management configures physical gate locations and their scanning devices.

Overview

Define gates at your school premises where students scan their IDs for attendance tracking.

  • Add Gate button - Create new gate
  • Search - Find gates
  • Gates Table - List of all gates

Gate Information

Each gate includes:

Common Tasks

Adding a Gate

  1. Click + Add Gate
  2. Enter gate details:
    • Name - Descriptive name (e.g., "Main Entrance")
    • Location - Where it's located
    • Type - Entry, Exit, or Both
    • Operating Hours - When active
  3. Click Save

Assigning Devices to Gate

  1. Open gate details
  2. Go to Devices tab
  3. Click Assign Device
  4. Select available device
  5. Save

Setting Operating Hours

  1. Open gate
  2. Set Start Time (e.g., 6:00 AM)
  3. Set End Time (e.g., 6:00 PM)
  4. Select Active Days
  5. Save

Deactivating a Gate

  1. Find gate
  2. Click Deactivate
  3. Confirm
  4. Gate stops recording

Gate Types

EntryMain entrance for arrivals
ExitExit point for departures
Entry/ExitRecords both directions

Operating Hours

Configure when gates are active:

  • School Days - Monday to Friday
  • Weekends - Saturday classes if any
  • Special Events - Extended hours
  • Holidays - Typically inactive

Multi-Gate Setup

For schools with multiple gates:

  • Name gates by location
  • Configure each gate's type
  • Track attendance by gate
  • Generate reports per gate

Tips

  • Clear Naming - Use location-based names
  • Proper Type - Set correct entry/exit type
  • Hours Match - Align with school schedule
  • Regular Audit - Verify gate configurations
  • Backup - Have contingency for gate issues
